This seminar includes the use of new (computational) methods for transportation planning and traffic engineering: Working with virtual environments Use of Virtual Reality and novel simulation approaches Use of novel technological equipment Use of standard Game Engines Concurrent and future challenges in transportation planning and traffic engineering, i.e. extreme events, artificial intelligence, and public participation in VR of transport planning and traffic engineering, will be analyzed with the above-mentioned new methods. Learning Outcomes: The students can compare new computational methods and simulation approaches in transportation planning and traffic engineering. They can solve complex problems in transport planning and traffic engineering by using computational methods. They can propose possible solutions, compare them, decide on the optimal solution, and present and defend their decision.
