In short

TUPlan has no user accounts. We collect no name, no matriculation number, no email address and no individual grades.

Grade data

The distributions shown here are cohort-level aggregates that TUCaN already displays to every enrolled student in the Notenspiegel view. The browser extension reads that table and nothing else — never names, matriculation numbers, individual grades or session cookies.

The extension only activates on tucan.tu-darmstadt.de, and only sends anything when you press the report button.

What is sent: course number, title and term, the count for each grade, the average TUCaN states, the number of results available, and the counts for missing and differently-graded results. Nothing else.

Ratings

For thumbs up/down, your browser generates a random id and keeps it locally. It identifies a browser, not a person, and is sent only so that voting again updates your vote rather than duplicating it. Clearing site data removes it.

Your timetable

Your plan lives entirely in the address bar, which is why sharing one is a plain link and needs no account. So that it is still there next time, your browser also keeps the ids of the courses you picked locally. That copy never leaves your browser; "clear plan" and clearing site data both remove it.

Server logs

Like any web server we process IP addresses transiently to rate-limit the anonymous write endpoints. They are not stored and never associated with a rating or a report.

Traffic measurement

We count page views with Vercel Analytics. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser: each request is reduced to an anonymous identifier that lasts a single day and cannot be worked back to a person. It tells us which pages get opened, never who opened them.

No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, nothing sold on. The counts are joined to nothing else you do here — not a rating, not a grade report, not your plan.
