The aim of the tutorial "Particle Image Velocimetry" is to provide students with fundamental knowledge in applying PIV techniques for flow visualization and analysis. Students will learn the theoretical basics as well as practical techniques for conducting and evaluating PIV experiments. The focus is on PIV technique, its applications in fluid mechanics, and the experimental capture of flow fields and their analysis. After successfully completing the tutorial, students should be able to independently perform PIV Method and apply it to various flow applications. This includes preparing and conducting experiments, using PIV software for analysis, and interpreting the resulting flow data. The students are enabled to: 1. Apply PIV techniques to fluid mechanics problems. 2. Carry out the key steps for capturing and analyzing flows using the PIV method. 3. Use PIV software (PIVLab) and explain how flow fields are computed and visualized from images. 4. Present and critically evaluate experimental results.
