Autonomous mobile robots are transforming various industries by driving the shift towards more autonomous and flexible operations. In this course, we will explore the fundamentals by integrating tools and knowledge from computer science and engineering: Robotic Locomotion Sensing and Perception State Estimation/Bayesian Statistics Localization (Infrastructure-Based and Infrastructure-Free) Mapping and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) Graph-SLAM (Frontend and Backend) Semantic Maps and Semantic Mapping Mapping in Dynamic Environments Time-Dependent Maps Neural Representations Students will become familiar with state-of-the-art methodologies and apply their newly acquired knowledge to solve individually designed assignments tackling real-world problems. They will further develop their practical skills through a series of exercises. To ensure comprehensive support, weekly meetings and lectures, combined with peer feedback, will be held to review and discuss their work.
